Last Weekend, my Japanese friend “Hiro” traveled back to Tokyo for his Labor Day vacation. When I heard about the plan, an idea came into my mind right away. Why don’t we do something special and give Ladybird a surprise. So I asked Hiro to be my personal “Worldwide Express Boy”.

A package was ready to be delivered from New York to Ladybird’s hands, and hopefully it could warm her heart a little bit. My “Worldwide Express Boy” did not disappoint me, he traveled thousand miles back to Tokyo, with a smooth contact, the package was perfectly put in her hands. She called me later on to say how much she likes the present and otherwise she also asked Hiro to carry something to me. What! That surprised me. She didn’t feel anything wrong to trouble my friend at all, or maybe he already became our mutual friend and kind of connection between us. I’m happy because I got my own present!

A lot of things happened in the last few weeks, something good and something bad.

First of all, three of my friends planed to visit me from Taiwan, two already went back; the other one is on the flight and will arrive here tomorrow. These three girls planed to come at different time, one after one to fill up my schedule of August. I think the August of mine should be called “Hang-out Month”. I did nothing but hang out instead of going to center, volunteer and swimming pool. Besides, I didn’t know a human being could get tired of hanging out before- -now I do, very much so.

This Wednesday, we have a good topic for our study group. “Books”, each one will share one of their favorite books, the new lesson we are trying to practice is to arouse others’ curiosity with English presentation.

Last week, I found two members in the center to join the study group, and we carried on our meeting again. The discussion with new members was smooth, I was really happy that I found someone to share the same desire.

Friday afternoon, I was studying in the Center. Concentrating on a text book is something extremely hard, I fell asleep again and again after reading a couple of pages. Altoids peppermint and Starbucks coffee were so useless. I thought the reason was because Friday night is coming, and I am going out with Misato.

I feel good about last week, because I did study almost everyday. In the whole two weeks before last week, I left my study behind and hangout with friends every day and every night. That did leave me a feeling of guilt, though I had a really good excuse.

每當旅行的時候有泰山作伴，事情就都變得很單純不複雜。這一刻開始我不用再煩惱該去欣賞哪片風景，或是品嚐哪道美食，也不必費心詮釋所謂旅行的意義。因為泰山奉行的旅遊宗旨，最高指導原則，從禮拜一到禮拜天、白天跟晚上都一樣就只有一條，就是"搭訕"。日常生活裡偶然發生的搭訕，可以是驚險刺激的試膽大會，也可以是美麗浪漫的一場邂逅。但是當生活的全部都是搭訕的話那就是另一回事了。搭訕是食物跟水、搭訕是工作會報也是跟客戶吃飯。每一天出門彷彿好像兩個業務員一般，心情隨著搭訕的業績高高低低起伏不定，有時眉開眼笑、有時愁雲慘霧、有時滿面春風、有時場面很冏。

1月12號剛從小琉球回到台灣，這天投靠屏東萬丹的小李維，他在國小裡當替代役。雖然離開布農部落溫暖的床才兩天，但是延路上的崎嶇顛跛讓我一眼看到教室改裝的小宿舍，內心就有一股激動湧出，平凡的枕頭與棉被是在發光嗎！好心收留我們的小李維真的十分好客，總是說睡地板委屈了我們。我心裡想要是沒有他，今晚肯定又是在某家網咖度過，所以他是我們旅途上的貴人，特別是泰山的，因為他前前後後總共來住了三晚，雖然這讓我很難理解他的環島之旅為什麼會經過同一個地方三次...是見鬼了嗎？另外在國小洗手臺伴著月光與操場洗衣服也是個特別的經驗喔。
